The moment has come... this moment i've been waiting for... i didn't think i'd make it with all the problems i've had with it...
Here is...
The Grim Reaper
Here he is in all his glory... i really don't know what else to say right now... he is done... i'm happy...
i think he needs a sythe though... The Grim Reaper is not totally complete without one... But hey, i can go out and buy some cheap one at party city or something... that way i wouldn't have to control 2 arm rods.
i'm going to quit rambling, rambling rambling...
Talk to ya Later,
Bud

The Costume
The Grim Reaper wears a cape and hood right???
Yeah, well... about 2 yards of fabric, careful measuring, and about 5 broken sewing needles later... it's still not done... i guess there was a slight miscalculation somewhere because the darned thing doesn't fit right...
Oh Well... it's either back to the drawing board -or- i improvise a little... i think i'm going to do the latter...
it was just going to be a basic hooded cloak, the usual... But now i think i'm going to add fleece cuffs and *hood extension... you'll see when it's done so i don't have to explain it and confuse even myself through my explanation
there will bea grand 'ole time, though, when he is finished though... he will be my favorite for now... until i get some of my other *twisted* ideas out of my head...
There's a storm a brewing... But i can't say which way this storm is coming from

The Head = Complete
Finished the head last night 9/18/2006That's me in the pic too, just to give a size comparison... and i have a rather bulbous head... i'm not angry, i was but a slew of faces we both posed for...
now all i have to do is the body and costume... even though you really won't see the body, it is going to be a black fleeced foam tube... still trying to figure out what to do with the hand(s)... My attention to detail might get the best of me here... but this is how i'm doing it...
i'm going to do my first test video with this guy also... hopefully soon... i'll set up a youtube account or something... or i might put it up on myspace... not sure yet...

Some New Pics
i'm done with the head as far as the fleece goes... sure i still have to do the jaw connections, but it looks good now... there are also a few details on the head (cheek points, teeth, *maybe eyebrows and skull cracks*)...
Then i get to tackle the detail of the body, and the cape; robe, whatever... i'm going to also try a bony fleece hand for rod arm operation... i'm working on it in my head as i go along
he's getting there... as you can see in the bottom pic, his jaw is going to move about, instead of being restricted to the head ... if i do end up doing some kind of show, or shows, with him, i might work on a "jaw dropper" skit where his jaw actually falls...
i'm out. hope you all had a good weekend,
Bud

The Grim
here is the future spot of the work in progress of the custom Grim Reaper Puppet i am working on... He does look a little like "Grim" from "The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy" as seen here to the right... i'm even thinking about putting the red liner inside his robe...
I also have a few other ideas i'm gong to do that you'll just have to wait and see... Since i haven't been doing this long, i will be using some patterns i bought from project puppet... i first used the basic round shape of one of the patterns to get my curved head shape... i 'm also using the body tube shape for something special i'm doing for the body... i'll post the pics on here as i go along...
The head will not be attached to the body though... and i'm still trying to work out the lower jaw connection... "Do i barely attach it or leave it hang there?" Well, i'll figure it out when i get there...
That's it for now... i have to get back to sewing and glueing
i would like to thank everyone for their support in my new venture of puppet building... and those at Muppet Central Forums for always being so positive of everything everybody does... i would really not have come this far if it wasn't for your support either... Maybe i would have, but who knows; I'm Here... you know...
i'm rambling again...
